Article 32, paragraph 6, of the Statute provides that the salary of the Registrar shall be fixed by the General Assembly on the proposal of the Court. This has given rise to two sets of problems: the salary and rank of the Registrar in comparison to salaries and ranks of members of the Secretariat; and the relation between the salary of a member of the Court and the salary of the Registrar.
