Biography

Studied under his grandfather, . al-Mukhtār, and under his father, whom he succeeded in both his religious and political roles. In the year of his succession the Fulbe of Māsina had taken Timbuktu, and it fell to . al-Mukhtār al-Ṣaghīr to negotiate with them.
