A. Life and work
The Italian architect and painter known as B. was born Donato d'Angelo in 1444 at Monte Asdrualdo (now Fermignano, near Urbino). He died on March 11, 1514, at Rome. His biography by Giorgio Vasari is rich in detail ; . B. probably trained as a painter with Luciano Laurana at Urbino.
