Biography

Abū l-Ḥasan belonged to the East Syrian (‘Nestorian’) community of Baghdad, where he was a renowned physician; his activities were recorded by Ibn Uṣaybi‘a and al-Qiftī. He also wrote two theological works, a refutation of the Jews and a work on God’s unity and Trinity (see below).
