Biography

Nothing is known about the author of a brief extract in ch. 19 of al-Muʾtaman ibn al-ʿAssāl’s famous theological compendium Majmūʿ uṣūl al-dīn apart from what can be gathered there. His honorific (laqab) Muṣṭafā l-Mulk (‘the chosen of the reign’) is typical of Copts of the secretarial class.
