The Tartīb is a collection of about 1,600 biographies of jurists of the Mālikī school of law, from the founder, Mālik ibn Anas, to ʿIyāḍ’s own time (the precise date of composition is unknown). It is one of the most important sources for the history of the Mālikī school.
