The poem Ad patriam consists of a mere 12 lines written in simple Latin verse. At the end is a dedication in Italian which reads: Al molto mag. Signor mio da fratello honorando (‘To my most great lord whom I honour as a brother’). The signature, however, is illegible and it is difficult to deduce to whom the poem was really dedicated.
