Born in the late 15th century, Feodosii was professed as a monk in the early 16th century. He became hieromonakh of the Iosifo-Volokolamsk Monastery in 1523, and on 21 November 1532, he was made abbot of the Novgorod Khutynskii Monastery by Grand Prince Vasilii III.
