Manoel Barradas was a Jesuit missionary and author. He entered the Society of Jesus as a novice in 1587 and set sail for Goa, India, four years later. He served in India in various educational and administrative positions, as well as pursuing his studies (Beccari, ‘In vitam’, p. v et passim).
