Very little is known about Peter Ashton, aside from his translation of the Turkes chronicles. He may have been the same Peter Ashton who was prebendary of Lincoln from 1542 to 1548. If that is the case, he was born around the turn of the 16th century, and was the son of Peter Ashton, who lived in Old Weston, Huntingdonshire.
