Thomas Fuller was born in early 1608 in the East Midlands. He was baptised on 19 June 1608. His father, Thomas, was a rector in Northamptonshire, and his mother, Judith Davenant, was the daughter of a wealthy London cloth merchant and the sister of the future bishop of Salisbury, John Davenant.
