Biography

Yovasap‘ Sebastac‘i was born into an Armenian priestly family in Sivas around 1510 and received training from his father T‘adēos in scribal arts, illumination and poetic composition. In the course of his work, Yovasap‘ made a still extant copy of two of his father’s poems, and in another codex devoted a verse colophon to him. It seems his father died in 1542, aged about…
