Commentary

The editio princeps is Bordreuil and Briquel-Chatonnet 1996–1997:100–107 (photograph, hand-copy, transliteration, translation, commentary). There is are-edition in Lemaire 2001:126–128, no. 6. The tablet is squarish (4.3 × 4 × 2.1cm) of light brown color, with breaks both on top and at the bottom; it appears crudely fashioned, with bulges in some points and extremely wide margins; cf. Fales et al. 2005:609 for a labeling of this particular tablet typology, which finds a few parallels in the Tell Shiukh Fawqani Aramaic archive, as a “cake-slice…
