This letter, along with ARM 26.5 (4.55), is an important source for understanding Bannum1 and his role during the early reign of Zimri-Lim. In this missive,2 Bannum advised Zimri-Lim about how to negotiate his relationship with the kings of Ida-maraṣ, citing the precedent of Yahdun-Lim, Zimri-Lim’s father.
