Commentary

This is the only cuneiform tablet discovered at Tell er-Rumeideh (Tell Hebron), the site of ancient Hebron. Found in 1986 in excavations that uncovered what has been identified as Middle Bronze Age levels, it has affinities in script and grammar with Old Babylonian.1 The left side and the lower edge of this small tablet2 are missing (Anbar and Na’aman 1986–1987:3).
