The basis of the present edition is my own study of NHC III in Cairo (including a complete collation of Dial. Sav. with the aid of ultra-violet light) during 1975 and 1976, and of the Yale fragment in New Haven in 1980.1 I have benefitted, however, from the work of other members of the Coptic Gnostic Library Project in the form of various transcriptions and notes made by Harold W.
