Chinese linguistics in Russia is represented by the studies of several generations of scholars starting in the 18th century (Skačkov 1960; 1977; Dacyšen 2000; Yán 2006).

The first data on Chinese in Russia were published by Gottlieb Siegfried Bayer (1694–1738).
