[1344c] On the thirteenth of Ziqaʿdah/3 October 1914, as the result of the letter from Sardar ʿAbd al-Wahhab Khan, the high governor of Turkistan, concerning the testamentary deposition of Dr. ʿAbd al-Qadir Khan, superintendent of public works in Turkistan, asking (the governor) to name his son to replace him, his seeking permission to do so, and the promise given previously to record the answer to the request, (as the result of all this) His Majesty’s written response went as follows:
